If it is not visible or cannot easily be removed, do not attempt to directly remove it as you can push it farther down. Reposition the head and attempt to give two quick breaths. If you still cannot get air in, repeat the Heimlich Maneuver four more times and reattempt to ventilate. Repeat this until you can give the two breaths. There is no point in going on to other steps until the airway is clear and breaths have been given.
